Sing to Him,
sing praise to Him;
tell of all
His wonderful acts."~Psalm 105:2
Each weekend Mass St. Raphael has its own “brand” of music. Our parishioners find that music greatly enhances their prayerful experience of the Mass, but some types of music have greater impact.
Music at the Saturday 5:30 pm Vigil and the 7:30 am Sunday Mass is led by a cantor with a trained organist/pianist. Music is taken from our hymnal and reflects the liturgical readings of the day or the liturgical period. To contact one of the cantors, Dorothy Turner call (805) 968-0683.
At the 9:30 am and 11:00 am Sunday Masses the contemporary musicians, led by Bob and Patty Burnham, have a strong beat with the mixture of keyboard, guitar, and vocalists. To contact Bob and Patty call (805) 569-5858.
There are actually three rotating groups at the 12:30 pm Spanish Mass playing the traditional and contemporary Spanish liturgical music common to Mexico.
Our Sunday 5:30 pm youth-oriented Mass features talented young singers and instrumentalist Most of the uplifting music at this Mass is taken from the Life Teen liturgical planner which encourages young people to sing and participate in the celebration of the Eucharist.
If you are interested in sharing your musical talents, leave your name and Mass interest at the Parish Office at (805) 967-5641 and you will be contacted by a representative of the Music Ministry.
