Our program runs from September through May for students in Grades 1 through 6. Classes on Wednesday are from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm. Students are expected to be regular in attendance. Students enrolled in our First Sacraments (Reconciliation and Holy Communion) must attend classes for two years prior to the reception of the Sacraments. Students in advanced grades who have already made their First Communion continue the study of their faith with emphasis on prayer and scripture. The fee is $70 this year, and $95 for year 2 sacramental (students in the second year of First Sacraments pay the additional fee to cover First Reconciliation Ceremony, a one day retreat in March, and special expenses associated with the day of First Communion). Enrollment closes after three (3) classes.
For more information, call Karen Froelicher in the Religious Education Office, 967-1641 x3 (please do NOT call the Parish Office).
We serve children from 6 to 12 years of age (1st to 6th Grade). We have bilingual classes, some of them with English as a primary language and some with Spanish as a principal language. We use bilingual text books and materials following the Whole Family Catechesis model.
Sacramental preparation is one of our major priorities. Classes are held on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 am (September through April).
For registration information please call Ana Cervantes at 967-1641 x4.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) is the Catholic Church’s way of welcoming and initiating adults into full membership in the Church. We invite non-Catholics interested in learning more about the Catholic Church to “come and see.”
In welcoming, we also answer any questions that you may have about our faith in Jesus and our Catholic way of life. We study Church teachings, Scripture and Church traditions in an atmosphere of prayer and community life.
For more information about RCIA, call Noël Fuentes, 683-9090 x7.
Please note: 2015-16 year sessions will be October 2016 through the Easter Vigil March 26, 2016.
